At TransFURmational Bookkeeping, we bring a unique perspective to managing your finances. Founded by a former accountant turned pet groomer, we understand the challenges and joys of running a pet grooming business firsthand. While we are primarily geared towards pet grooming salons, we take care of all pet industries and have a great range of clients that include:

TransFURmational Bookkeeping’s founder, Laurren Segraves, holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration. Laurren has prior work experience in a CPA firm - but most importantly, she has owned and operated her own grooming salon since 2016. Laurren briefly worked as an adjunct professor at a private university, teaching undergraduate business school students entrepreneurship, both on-campus and online.
Priding herself on her ability to work with the creative minds of groomers and helping them to understand their numbers, Laurren quickly forms relationships with her clients that only those in the industry can.
Laurren and her husband, Chantz, have spent several years breeding and exhibiting Poodles within the AKC - showing nearly 20 Poodles to their American championships. They’ve produced group winning and best in specialty show winning dogs.

I start hourly and once we establish the parameters of work and how much time is involved with your business, we will transition to flat rate. A reason for this is because it’s not fair to you for me to charge hundreds when you have 10 transactions that need to be logged into QuickBooks Online and it’s also not fair to me to make pennies when you have over 100 transactions that need to be logged, accounts reconciled, reports generated, etc.
It’s like me charging you for a Chihuahua bath when you have a St. Bernard OR you (over) paying me to do a deshed service on a St. Bernard but you have a Chihuahua. I want it to be reasonable for the both of us.

I’m upfront and I meet deadlines. If I tell you when somethings going to be done, unless I am hospitalized or held hostage, that’s when it will be done, and if anything comes up that disrupts the original timeline I gave you, that will be communicated well in advance. If we have an agreement that your payrolls will be completed on Wednesdays, it will be Wednesdays. I’ve always prided myself on the fact that a large reason why my businesses have been successful is because of my communication skills. As I always told my business school students: “good communication and customer service will cost you $0 to offer and it can make or break your business”

Yes! Every state is different. Some states do not apply sales tax towards services, some states only require a portion of the service to be taxed. I am happy to help you with this!
